Ashley + Billy

THIS SHOOT. Holy cow. Definitely one of my favorite bridals I’ve ever shot. I absolutely loved, LOVED working with these babes. They are so easy to shoot – I hardly had to direct at all as their comfort level with each other was off the charts. As much as I love directing it is so to throw out a few suggestions and have the couple just run with it. These two are so in love with each other and couldn’t stop giggling and smiling the whole time. Also, can we talk about this cool forrest location?! It was a new location for me and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The way the light streamed through the trees was dreamy, dreamy, dreamy and having the little creek there was a total plus. New locations always provide new inspiration for me and this one definitely did just that.

Some of my favorite parts of shoots are when personal details are added and this one was no exception. That beautiful bouquet you see was made my Ashley’s mom! She threw it together and it was perfection. Also, Ashley’s gorgeous dress was her moms! It fit Ashley like a glove with no alterations needed. Talk about perfect.

Hannah + Bradley

Hannah and Bradley!! UGH. These two. You don’t have to see a million photos of these sweethearts to feel the love they have for each other. They decided to forgo a big wedding and kept it intimate with a sweet mountain elopement. They chose a secluded spot in Snowbasin, and it was THE sweetest day. It included all the pure moments of a wedding day surrounded by just their closest family and friends. I am a lover of all weddings but there is something so sweet about just having those closest to you there on the best day of your life! Hannah arrived in the COOLEST old fancy car and walked up a dirt path to join the party. The fur she wore was the perfect touch – I was OBSESSED. I love when brides add something a little out of the ordinary to make the day or ensemble their own. One of my favorite moments of the day, was after all the family and friends left and it was just them – their love is so tender and pure it was beautiful to witness. You could just tell every gesture had so much meaning behind it and I was just so touched I got to be a part of their day.

Scott + Brooke

Rarely in the wedding world (and in life, really), does everything go EXACTLY according to plan. And one of the best things you can do is ROLL WITH IT. Especially on the wedding day if there are small snafus, I always tell brides that the most important thing is that by the end of this day they will be married to the love of their life. That’s all that matters, really! Scott and Brooke experienced a little bit of that with this shoot – Brooke’s wedding dress didn’t come out according to plan so they had to scurry for a backup. However you can HARDLY tell this was the “backup” plan dress. Isn’t is gorgeous?! Seriously so perfect and fits this location perfectly. After a few reschedules we landed at this pretty little sunrise session up at Snowbasin. These lovies really wanted the Aspen trees in their location – which I was totally down with – I love their wistful vibe – and they turned out so pretty!

Catherine + Erich

One of my favorite parts to this job is getting to experience life’s progression with my couples and these two are noo exception. The feeling of seeing a couple go from dating to fiances to husband and wife to parents etc etc is UNPARALLELED. Seriously what an honor. You may recognize these cutie babes – I shot their bridals and then shot them at the sand dunes a few months back. I absolutely adore that not only are they returning clients – often for “just becuase” shoots, but each time we get to explore their relationship in a new and different way. We always have such a fun time together and they have way gone beyond clients into the friend zone. Friend zoning my couples is my fav. This job has introduced me to some of my favorite people and for that I am forever grateful! For this shoot, we ventured to Alta Basin and managed to make it in time for the last of the wildflowers!! What luck! Erich and Catherine rocked it per usual and then we ended the night in my favorite way – with some yummy thai food. Scores all around with these two. Can’t wait for the next time!!

Madi + Morgan

You only need to look at a few images of these babes to get a sense for their playful and carefree spirits. THEY WERE SO FUN, not to mention drop dead gorgeous. Madi’s dress was STUNNING yet so simple and timeless. I’m obsessed. It went perfectly with one of my all time fav locations, Antelope Island – a winter location favorite. The endless space gives so much room to run and spin and play and was a perfect choice for these lovers. We had SO much fun and already have another shoot planned even before this one had ended! Repeat clients are just the best. I threw together this bouquet and I love how it turned out. Also, most importantly, for this shoot I worked with my babe Hair and Makeup by Steph. It had been a while since we had done a shoot together and I am so glad we got to do this one together! The people this little job bring me are one of the best parts and I am forever thankful!!

Lauralee + Shaun

If you can recall from these babe’s engagement session, they are basically the sweetest of lovers. I was super excited for their wedding all summer for a few reasons – one, because I love them and capturing people you genuinely care about is like a million times better (but that’s pretty much every single one of my clients – so, lucky me), and TWO – they held their reception at the ATK conference center in Ogden Canyon. I thrilled about this fact, because I haven’t yet shot there and has the most beautiful mountain vibes. The Ogden River runs right through the property and mountain lighting is the most epic ever, so I was a very happy camper. From start to finish the day was filled with an over flow of love and joy. Plus their families were amazing and so warm and welcoming and the day was just over all full of bliss. One of the highlights for me, was watching them cut the cake. It had three layers and so they cut and shared each layer. The first layer went down with cake all over their faces, and layer’s two and three they tossed in each other’s mouthes. Playful couples are simply the best couples.

Thank you to the amazing people that made this day possible – Micah Arlene with Lauralee’s hair and makeup, Jimmys Flowers with the amazing florals, and Bridal Corner Gowns and Tuxedos for providing the most beautiful wedding gown.

Kenedee + Waylon

Do you remember these cuties from their engagement session?! To jog your memory, they have their adorable sweetie, Brex who is always such a darling. This shoot was NO different and this time she was all dressed up too! Oh my goodness I died. Her little dress?? And that little mini train?! Gah. Too cute. My favorite part of the whole shoot was when Waylon and Kenedee got to see Brex walk to them in her dress. That sweet girl loves her mom and dad. And can you blame her?! They are always so sweet with each other and were extra adorable this night out at the Salt Flats. Bridals are just my fav and I love that my couples take the time to do them. Also it didn’t hurt that the light was magical this night. So excited these three are officially a family!

Kenedee and Brex’s AMAZING dresses (again, like what. So gorgeous) are beautifully crafted by Mary’s Bridal Boutique. Kenedee’s gorgeous hair was done by Chellie Lamb, and her hair by Lauren Lue.

Sid + Colton

I know I say I love a lot of things about this job of mine, but truly one of my FAVORITES is the avenue it creates for reconnecting with people from my past!! Seriously it is the BEST. I went to high school with these two cuties and it was so much fun to see them married!! You know when you know two people separately not in a relationship with each other and then all of a sudden they are married?! HA Well, that was them, but they are SO sweet together and so perfect for each other. You can tell the love and respect they have for each other has no bounds. It was a complete blast being with them.  Sid and I played on the tennis team together and not only was she super talented but her sense of humor had her friends with everyone. Glad to see that didn’t change!

They were awesome and came and modeled for me for two different shoots at my workshop in Teton Valley. The indoor shoots are always some of my favorite. But, the outdoor was a close second with her dress and setting.

Meghan + Lance

Meghan and Lance – OK. Seriously THE cutest, most fun couple. Like when I say they were adorable and playful, I mean they were like ADORABLE and oh so playful. That’s what true, forever love is all about right? Their wedding day was as sweet as they were surrounded by loving family and friends. Of course, no wedding is complete without a party and Lance had THE BEST dance moves which it made the reception so much fun to witness.

Also, it’s been weeks and I’m still obsessing over Meghan’s dress from The Perfect Dress. The lace sleeves were my favorite – so timeless and beautiful.  Also, we were blessed by a beautiful summer cloudy day. The sun peaked through just enough which is pretty much a photographer’s dream while shooting in the middle of a summer day. Praise hands all around.

Alexa + Dillon

You might recognize these two from their amazing Texas wedding this summer. Honestly one of my absolute favorites OF ALL TIME. So when they decide to hire you again after their wedding for a fun and intimate in-home session, pretty much all your dreams come true. Alexa and Dillon still win my heart EVERYTIME with their love.  It is the tried and true love and most people are looking for – so genuine, kind, deep, intimate, and REAL. It’s just real love, all. I love them and will always love being a part of their life moments – whether its big or small. Texas is now a favorite spot for me because of these two!! Thank you again guys for inviting me into your home!!

Ashley + Billy

GOLDEN HOUR. In the photography world, there is a lot of talk about “golden hour”. For those that don’t know this is the hour after the sun rises or the hour before the sun sets. Photographers love it for a number of reasons – the light is all glowy, the colors are warm, and well for lack of a better word it just creates this golden effect. It also happens to be one of my favorite times of day to shoot.  Also, in my opinion, golden hour tends to be elevated (no pun intended) in the mountains and in Utah we have just a few of those! The sun was ON POINT in this shoot and perfectly paralleled Ashley and Billy’s sunshiney, intimate love. They were definitely down to run and laugh and giggle, but you could tell they just loved snuggling in close to each other and it was the MOST adorable thing I have ever seen. These two squeezed in this shoot before their trip to Paris and I definitely had to keep myself from asking to jump in their suitcases. I am so happy for these lovebirds and feel thankful they chose me to document their love journey!

Brooke + Scott

OK THESE TWO. This shoot. Sometimes in life you come across people who just scream authenticity, joy, and love and Brooke and Scott were exactly that. As soon as they reached out I knew we would be a good fit and I couldn’t WAIT to shoot their love.   It also doesn’t hurt that Scott is SUCH a romantic and started off the shoot by surprising Brooke with a second band to go with her engagement ring. Ok the stinkin’ cutest. From there, the evening flowed and we wandered and explored as we spent the rest of the day’s light roaming the beautiful mountains in the Razors. These romantic mountain sessions are always my favorite – it’s probably the light, but also a mountain’s ability to perfectly frame a couple’s love. I also brought the fam along and Scott and Brooke could not have been cuter with my kids. My family is so important to me and I love when I get to combine work and family – life just doesn’t get much sweeter than that does it?? Once the sun dipped below the mountains we left to go find some much deserved gelato. These babes were so fun and so easy to become friends with. My absolute favorite combo.
